  I found it quite easy to install, If you Read the Instructions First. I installed 2 of these doors, one on my place and one on my daughters place. Mine the first one took me about 3 hours but I wanted a good job so I didn't rush the installation. The second one too about 2 hours. I also installed a brace about half way up the door to make the frame just a bit stronger and deter would be burglars.

  Someone was sent round to measure to install a dog door in a glass sliding door. I had explained when ordering that I had a dachshund. The representative sent to measure met my dog with her short legs. The dog door was then installed for a dog with the legs of a greyhound! I raised this with the guy that came to install it and was told that was the lowest it could go. Not so, I had 2 dog doors installed in Perth, in huge sliding glass doors with no issue. Both were installed at the bottom of the glass to cater for the breeds short legs. No problems with the glass or dog door for the 14 years we lived there. As a consequence we have had to get a ramp installed inside and out so that my dog can access the door! Not impressed.

  Overall quite happy with the product except when the weather is blowing a gale or heavy rain from the south, south/west. There is an option to close off the dog door altogether which solves the weather problem, but then the dog can't get outside. If we had the option to place it in a door that led out to a sheltered patio it would be perfect, however, we don't have that luxury so the floor gets soaked when it rains and the whole house gets blasted with wind and the darn door flaps like mad when it's windy. There are extra magnets that you can purchase but there's still a gap for wind and rain to get in and no magnet can stop the level of winds we have here. As we live at the top of a hill, we seem to get more than our fair share of windy days. Other than that, it's a great product if you can control what's immediately on the other side of the door.
